Crabapple Montessori School

ADMISSIONS > How to Enroll

Thank you for your interest in Crabapple Montessori School!

We look forward to introducing you to our learning environment

Our learning environment and services support the whole child and the family.

We invite parents from the Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton, Cumming, Canton, Woodstock, and other north metro Atlanta areas to visit our campus and learn more about enrolling your child in our school. Crabapple Montessori is an inclusive private school that welcomes children without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

Due to the multi-age structure of our curriculum and the individualized instruction, a child may be admitted to our school at any time during the year, subject to availability. A handbook outlining school procedures and policies is provided at registration.

Learn about our six step enrollment process

Our goal at Crabapple Montessori School is to enroll the children of parents whose expectations for their child’s growth and development match the Montessori philosophy of child development. That’s why the enrollment process includes two visits and plenty of opportunities to learn about our school, the Montessori method and to see learning in action at Crabapple Montessori School.

1. Schedule a Tour

Sign up today for a one-on-one discussion with our Admissions Manager. During this phone tour, we’ll learn more about you and your child(ren), and give you the full introduction to our school.

2. Attend an in-person campus tour

If a parent is new to Montessori or considering transferring from another Montessori school, a campus tour is scheduled during the week at 9:00am or 9:30am. This tour is typically for adults only. The parent has an opportunity to see the school and take a look at the classrooms during a Montessori work cycle through the observation windows. During this visit, the Admissions Manager provides information about the school, the staff, and an overview of the Montessori curriculum. Parents also have the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about the Montessori environment or the school. The Admissions Manager gathers information about the family and the expectations of the parent during the child’s tenure at the school.

3. Submit an Application

If a parent is interested in the school, a completed application form with a $50 non-refundable fee is submitted. Along with the application, the following are requested:

  • A transcript for all transfer students who are 4 years or older.
  • Two most recent progress reports and the most recent achievement-test scores for students in grades K-6.
  • A signed confidential teacher-recommendation form filled out by the child’s current teacher.
  • A signed confidential recommendation from the child’s current Head of School.

4. Attend a Child Visit

Once the application is complete, a second visit is scheduled with the child. A teacher spends some time interacting with the child. The parent will be given an opportunity to observe a classroom for about 30 minutes.

5. Admission Decision

The decision to admit a child at Crabapple Montessori School is made by the teacher and the administration. Parents applying for admission will be notified within two weeks of the second visit. Enrollment decisions are based on several factors including the child’s emotional readiness and the match between the parents’ and school’s expectations and goals.

6. Enrollment

Once the child is accepted at the school, the parent completes the registration process by filling out additional registration forms and submitting them along with a check for registration and supply fees. Since annual tuition is paid in 10 equal installments, the first and the last installment are due on August 1st unless other arrangements have been made.

What Our Parents Say

"There are obviously many options when it comes to educating your child. My wife and I feel strongly about the Montessori method, based on hands-on learning and collaboration. Many schools claim to be Montessori, but Crabapple Montessori School (“CMS”) is one of the few schools in the area that is AMI accredited. CMS has teachers that are passionate about their job, which creates a perfect environment to help your child succeed. From an administration perspective, CMS is a pleasure to work with and provides a smooth process starting with tours and on-boarding, all the way to the daily operations. The tuition rates are reasonable and worth every dollar. I would not consider sending my son to any other school!"
