Rekha was introduced to the concept of Montessori when she heard about her nephews’ experience attending a Montessori school. Intrigued by the method, and inspired by a family filled with educators, she decided to pursue a course at the Indian Montessori Training Centre (IMTC) in Bangalore. After graduating with a diploma, she taught in a Lower Elementary class in Bangalore. Working with this age group, she was able to experience and appreciate the philosophy of “follow the child”. Rekha is a foodie and makes it a point to sample the local food in its most authentic form wherever she travels. She enjoys reading a good fiction novel, binge watching an interesting series and dabbles with a little bit of crochet. She loves cooking for her family and hosting friends at home. Rekha graduated with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from SUNY Buffalo and worked in research in medical image processing back in the day. She recently relocated from Bangalore and lives in Alpharetta, GA with her husband and daughter, a Montessori child herself.
