Marcela Mejia is a wife, a mother and a passionate Montessori teacher. She was born in Colombia, S.A., and since 1994, has lived in the U.S. After college, Marcela came to Atlanta to study English. In 1997, she attended the Atlanta Montessori Institute and received her Primary certification through the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Since then, she has been blessed to work all these years doing what she loves the most. Her goal as a Montessori teacher has been to help children develop a love for learning in a peaceful environment, where they can develop socially, academically, and emotionally. Marcela is convinced that a Montessori education provides the strongest foundation for children to develop and become great human beings. Marcela currently lives in Cumming with her husband and her dog “Rafa”. She enjoys spending time with her family, doing puzzles, painting, sewing and hiking.
